How To Live a Passionate Lifestyle. My Story of Persuasion

So, what do I mean by a “passionate” lifestyle?

It’s all about living what you love doing. You gotto ask yourself, what separates you from the rest of the crowd.

Honestly, 90% of people on this planet live a life which is basically the same. They are here to survive and do what man has been doing since the day he came into the existence.

Core Pattern of people without passion

Born > Work > Copulate > Grow Old > Die

I call it a core pattern and almost 99% of the people on this planet live it. They all basically have this similar core pattern.

But, your work fills a gigantic part of your life and if you really love what you do and cannot live without it then even “grow old” part is also replaced by it.

For example, Da Vinci and Steve Jobs both had their “grow old” part replaced by what they loved to do.

What is Passion?

Your passion is something that makes you happy when you live it. Passion is not a dream lifestyle or a dream come true, it’s all about doing what you can keep doing for the rest of your life without getting tired of it. You had the same hunger for it, same hunger when you were 25, same hunger when you will be 80. That level of hunger will never go down.

If you have this kind of hunger for anything, then that “anything” is your passion. Go for it and do everything to live it. When I was starting to live my passion I had to make some sacrifices and decide what’s important for me. I had to take decisions like dropping out, going on a path that in my poor country, no one ever had. A 15 year old doing everything to become a tech entrepreneur.

People will tell you it’s a bad idea – Don’t listen to them

Everybody told me that it is a bad idea. People used to tell me horror stories about how lives of people got destroyed doing it and I should go the conventional way because it was tested and there is a reason why “everyone” was doing it.

Something told me; maybe it was my gut feeling that I shouldn’t give up. It turns out that the line I picked was very hard. I failed for 6 years. Consistently

In last ten years of my life, there is not a single day I can remember in which I never thought about my ideas about web, the way we do computing and all types of crazy things.

My constant persuasion resulted in moments in which I got so much frustrated but I never thought of giving up. Because I love what I do so much that giving up means death to me.

In past my passion resulted in some inner chaos too, I feared that if I die in coming year or two, I wouldn’t be able to do what I love or leave a legacy. Time is the most precious thing for me. Even more than my body in one sense. Because I don’t care if I don’t have both legs and the arms if I can just keep on doing what I love.

I was worried about premature death so much that my mind developed a hypochondriac condition. Thanks to Dale Carnegie’s books that I recovered in less than a month.

I thought that the day of man’s salvation is NOW. Shut off the future and the past. Present is important, because you are alive right now!

This was a thought that keeps me going.

YOU decide your destiny

Your passion comes from your perspective; your perspective comes from your experiences in life. If you can control your experiences like what’s going in your mind, you can control your perspective and if you can do that, you can ultimately control your passion. Passion and will-power decides your destiny, so you can control your destiny.

You know, perspective isn’t a choice, it just happens to us. There are situations and events that you might have noticed in many people’s life that completely changed their perspective and hence passion.

In John Lennon’s case it was when Yoko Ono came into his life.

Negativity Can Destroy Your Ability To Peruse Your Passion

What you can do is to create a barrier to avoid negative thoughts and experiences.

Like avoiding:

  1. general gossips
  2. general news
  3. screwing around

Because I was able to constantly maintain my focus I’m able to start Zielix® and give it proper direction. It wasn’t a choice but luck, I don’t socialized much so I very easily eliminated general gossips and screwing around.

We’re working on some great products that I believe will create a breakthrough in its niche. We’re working on certain iPhone/iPad Apps, Web apps, software and systems that work all together in harmony with each other. The total is greater than sum of parts.

I could have easily given up and followed conventional ways. People say you just have to try. I tried like a zillion times and failed. But I succeeded at some point in not just raising money, but making money myself and for my business. I don’t have to look out for a VC or an angel because I wanted total control.

I wanted total control so that I can maintain the vision what we stand for, as a whole and not stumped by profit maximization concept and make stupid decisions.

So my advice is that if you try and fail, keep trying. Don’t listen to people and give up. They come up with many reasons that rationalize their point of view, but you are not pursuing your passion because of some rational reason, you are doing it because you love doing it.

You may fail a thousand times, but you if you can keep on finding your inner voice and passion like I did, you have found the real treasure that’s beyond money.
